SAFETY: IMPORTANT NOTICE
USING NOREN “XP”, “HL”, “HL2”, “-IHL”, AND “AIR TO WATER” CABINET COOLERSTM IN HAZARDOUS LOCATIONS
- 1. Only use HL2 Cabinet CoolersTM without purged / pressurized systems if an internal Div 2 hazard condition is allowable. All fans are rated for Division 2 use.
- 2. Only use “Air to Water type IHL” Cabinet CoolersTM without purged / pressurized systems if an internal Div 2 hazard condition is allowable. The Internal Hazardous Location fan(s) are rated for Division 2 use.
- 3. Always use standard Noren “HL” Cabinet CoolersTM in conjunction with type Z purged / pressurized systems. The internal fan is not rated for hazardous use.
- 4. Noren “XP type IHL” and “Air to Water type IHL” Cabinet CoolersTM have Internal Hazardous Location fans rated for Division 2 use. This may permit the use of a Type Y purging system in Division 1 Locations if an internal Division 2 hazard condition is allowable.
- 5. Always use standard Noren “XP” or standard “Air to Water” Cabinet CoolerTM in conjunction with type X or type Z purged / pressurized systems.
- 6. Never use standard Noren “XP”, “HL”, or “Air to Water” Cabinet CoolerTM with type Y purged / pressurized systems. The internal fan is not rated for Div 2 use.
- 7. Only use Noren “XP” or “HL” Cabinet CoolersTM in locations for which the external XP (eXplosion Proof) or HL (Hazardous Location) motor is designed.
- 8. Read the hazard classification on nameplate of the motor(s) you receive to assure they are appropriate for your application.
- 9. Noren “Air to Water” Cabinet CoolerTM can be used in some hazardous locations where Noren XP or HL units cannot. Depending on which internal fan is used and your purging system, this may include Class 1, Div 1, Groups A & B (acetylene, hydrogen, manufactured gas). “Air to Water” Cabinet CoolesTM have no external electrical or moving parts.
- 10. Noren Cabinet CoolersTM will not maintain the explosion proof integrity of NEMA 7 type enclosures.
- 11. It is the customer’s responsibility to know what protection their purged / pressurized system provides. Install the Noren Cabinet CoolerTM correctly and safely in accordance with the National Electrical Code (N.E.C.
