Internal Gear Pumps
Internal gear pumps use two rotating gears which un-mesh at the suction side of the pump to create voids which allow atmospheric pressure to force fluid into the pump. The spaces between the gear teeth transport the fluid on either side of a crescent to the discharge side, and then the gears re-mesh to discharge the fluid. Viking's internal gear design has an outer drive gear which turns the inner, driven gear.

External Gear Pumps
The external gear pumping principle uses two rotating gears which unmesh at the suction side of the pump to create voids which allow atmospheric pressure to force fluid into the pump. The spaces between the gear teeth transport the fluid along the outer perimeter of the housing to the discharge side, and then the gears re-mesh at the center to discharge the fluid. The gears are supported by bearings on both sides, which allows high discharge pressure capabilities.

Rotary Lobe Pumps
Rotary lobe pumps use timing gears to eliminate contact between the rotors, which allows their use on non-lubricating fluids. Various rotor forms are available, including bi-wing and multi-lobe options. These pumps offer low shear and gentle handling of the liquid to minimize product degradation. They're also easy to clean in place (CIP) or strip clean between operations for batching applications.

Vane Pumps
Vane pumps are used for liquid transfer applications from chemicals to liquefied gases. Vanes extend from slots in the rotor, sweeping liquid through a cam-shaped cavity. The vanes provide very low slip and high volumetric efficiency.

Fluid Power Products
Viking Pump offers a variety of hydraulic pumps and accessories for fluid power applications. Based on the external gear pumping principle, except with tighter clearances than industrial duty external gear pumps, they are capable of discharge pressures to 3,000 psi.

Gear Reducers
Gear Reducers to reduce a driver's synchronous speed to the speed required by the pump or other driven device.

Basket Strainers
Viking Lid-Ease® strainers provide protection for any pumping system by preventing solids or foreign materials from entering the pump. Simple lid rotation disengages the breech lock lid, permitting easy, top removal of the basket for cleaning. The inner stainless steel screen is rigidly supported by a perforated stainless steel basket having maximum hoop strength to allow high differential pressures.

Power Load Monitors
Viking Power Load Monitors provide a simple, cost effective, state-of-the-art method to monitor pump and system problems and alarm or shut down the pump when a change of load is detected at the motor. They are applicable to positive displacement or centrifugal pumps, as well as other types of motor-driven equipment. They are especially useful for pumps which are susceptible to damage due to dry running, such as sealless magnetic drive pumps*.
