The
Eagle® Tac-Monitor is a proportional speed monitor that converts rotating shaft speed to an analog 4-20mA output signal. Interfaced with the customer's PLC, the Tac-monitor is a proven, cost-effective device for virtually any speed monitoring requirement.
Encased in durable ABS plastic, the small, but rugged control module mounts conveniently inside electrical panels and OEM control compartments. The non-contacting proximity sensor, available in three mounting styles, is unaffected by material build-up and hostile environments. Immune to electrical and RF interference, the sensor may be remotely located up to 10,000 feet from the control unit, using standard 2-wire unshielded cable.
Installation is quick, easy and precise. Light emitting diodes (LEDs) on the control module and sensor head aid installation and troubleshooting. No field calibration is necessary - the control module is factory calibrated.
The Tac-Monitor fulfills a wide variety of industrial applications. One such application: conveyors with variable speed drives are commonly governed by ramp-up timers. Should slippage occur during the critical ramp-up period, the conveyor is unprotected and subject to serious damage. The result is very often costly, hard-to-recover downtime. The Tac-Monitor, by contrast, continuously monitors the conveyor from beginning ramp-up through normal operating speed, providing total protection and control.
