I.S.-1 completely replaces the equipment used between I.S. field devices and the automation system. Local terminals boxes, main cables, marshaling cabinets, I.S. interface and their individual connections are now a thing of the past.

Decentralized I.S.-1 field stations are fitted locally in the hazardous area and of course, I.S.-1 can also be used in the control room. As a node in the field bus network, I.S.-1 ensures fast and safe communication with automation systems. The I.S. interface is integral in each and every case.

The PowerBus - the strength of a powerful idea
A central power module provides the necessary power. The I/O modules are simply attached and supplied from the PowerBus. This simplifies designing and installing a field system. Nothing impedes subsequent extensions.
High availability from scaleable redundancy
We provide tailor-made solutions for your application and requirements. All critical parts can be configured individually or together as "hot standby redundancy": field bus cable, bus module, power module. Even the internal data bus is duplicated.
Two zones, one system design
You'll find the right configuration for every zone with just one continuous, uniform system design. In zone 2, I.S. and non-I.S. signals can be mixed. We even have a solution for applications in Zone 1 which are not intrinsically safe - for example, Ex d transmitters and Ex m valves. Even more, I.S.-1 can replace marshaling cabinets and I.S. interface in the control room.
Hot swap - it couldn't be simpler!
Each module can be replaced during operation, even in the Zone 1 hazardous area. All of the parameters required by a replacement module are automatically reloaded. Downtimes and repair times are reduced to a minimum.
Diagnosis: perfect health
The service bus also allows a configuring and diagnostic tool to be connected, enabling you to localize errors easily, quickly, and accurately. The three-stage diagnosis covers:
- field stations with central modules for power supply and field bus connection.
- I/O modules
- individual signals (wire breakage and short circuit for inputs and outputs, deviation from the measuring range, etc.) or the various I/O modules.
- All inputs and outputs can be simulated to test the automation functions.
